This is our personal favourite grounding method. Meditation is the act of becoming so present that you can be an observer of your thoughts and in time release negative thoughts and attachments.
A good meditation you can try for grounding is this 5 minute exercise:

1. Find somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down where you won’t be disturbed
2. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing, taking deep breathes in & out
3. If you have any thoughts throughout, simply observe that they’re there without reacting & they will soon pass
4. Before opening your eyes, rest in the feelings of centeredness and calm for a few moments
This is such a great way to create presence when you need it the most and you can do it for however long you need. Try out some of our free guided meditations for the ultimate grounding experience.

Spending time in nature can really help you in your grounding process, after all nature is a natural healer! Make a conscious effort to disconnect from distractions (such as your phone!) and spend quality time being nurtured by nature. Go wherever you feel most at peace, whether that’s in the mountains, the beach, the woods or even your own garden. And whilst you’re at it, try walking across the ground barefoot, allowing your skin to touch the natural ground can provide you with an abundance of grounding energy.
How? The Earth contains free electrons that neutralises free radicals and acts as an antioxidant.
Deep breathing

Taking deep breathes is an amazing way to combat anxiety and focus on the present moment. A good technique is to close your eyes and as you inhale, trace the air as it enters your nose and goes into your lungs. On the exhale, follow the air leaving your lungs and exiting your nose or mouth. The key is to observe the breath instead of forcing it with your mind. Let your body lead, and your mind will follow.
Yoga at sunset
It’s a well known fact that exercise is good for your mental health. A nice workout session can act as a reset button for your body and your mindset no matter which activity you choose. Yoga is especially good because it unites the mind, body and spirit to raise you to higher levels of consciousness. With movement we are able to move through any stagnant or stuck energy reconnecting to our bodies which makes it so much easier to ground ourselves.

Music has such a strong effect on our emotions, it speaks to our souls in a powerful way. Whenever things appear to be falling apart, sing, play an instrument or simply listen to your favourite high vibe songs to sooth yourself with music and find your centre again.
Pink Himalayan salt
Salts like Himalayan Salt, Epsom Salt or even just plain old Sea Salt have amazing restorative and healing properties. Draw a warm bath, light some candles and sprinkle some of your favourite salt in to the water. As you soak, try to relax and fill your mind & body with positive energy. This really helps to rid yourself of negative energy as you learn how to ground yourself spiritually.
Crystal healing
Use powerful crystals & stones to help connect you to the earth. We recommend trying Red Jasper, Hematite, Smoky Quartz, Jade or Bloodstone. We find it helps when you keep them close to you either in a pocket or on a pendant for constant energy healing. To get the most benefit out of your crystals you can discover how to properly cleanse & charge them here.

Tree of Life
Visualisation isn’t just great for manifesting your every desire, it’s also an amazing way to ground yourself. For this exercise, you’re going to want to imagine yourself as a tree (trust us, it works!) The image of a tree evokes feelings of stability and connectedness for many people.
Here’s one of our favourite visualisation techniques:
1. Close your eyes, take some deep breathes and visualise yourself sitting on a tree trunk
2. Focus on the energy in your body flowing downward to the earth. The tree has become an extension of your body, extending through your feet
3. Continue to imagine this tree trunk travelling down through the Earth, until your trunk finally reaches the centre
4. While you are breathing, let any negative feelings escape your body. Leave any feelings of pain, frustration, anger or bitterness in the centre of the Earth
5. Push your energy upward & imagine Earth’s life force energy flowing back up through your trunk
This may take some practice but it’s a great exercise to help you live in the now. Try it whenever you’re feeling stressed, worried or nervous and it will help bring your focus back to the present so you can feel more whole & aware.
Sage smudge stick
An easy way to start the process of ѕріrіtuаl grounding is by burning white sage (we highly recommend this native American sage for the best benefits) or palo santo. Burning sage will cleanse your environment of negative energy, to generate wisdom and clarity, and to promote healing. Intention is everything with this ritual, so before you light up, ask yourself what you’re trying to purify and/or heal from or release — in your space and in yourself.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that not every tip will work for every person. So, what grounds us might not ground you. Keep trying different techniques (or a combination of them) until you find what works best for you.
Happy grounding! 💛
